First Concept Paintings

These are the first digital paint concepts I've produced. I'm experimenting with architecture styles and colour schemes at the moment. I've used a combination of FireAlpaca and Photoshop to produce them, each software has different elements that I'm more comfortable using, so I use a little of both to create my paintings.

I like the ghostly feel this one has, but maybe it's a bit too much. I'd like to stay away from the typical haunted mansion image, and aim more for something that's subtly unsettling.

This one is where I was playing with more Gothic visuals, thinking about dark greys and purples. It's close to what I want, but there's still something lacking. I'm aware the perspective is also a little off.

I was thinking about how I ought to include the passing of time and the setting sun which I had decided would be part of the story. However this colour scheme is definitely too warm, it's more romantic than frightening.

This may have come out a bit too dark to see, but I'm pleased with the gloomy feel this one has. It reflects some natural beauty of the surrounding land, but at the same time you can sense that the building is looming over it and sucking away the life of the scenery.
